The National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) is a consultative forum and watchdog for influencing the formulation and delivery of science, engineering, technology (SET), and innovation public policy in South Africa. Every year, the ‘Who’s Who of SET and innovation in SA’ booklet is published to honour the finalists competing for the prestigious NSTF Awards. The finalists are leaders in their various areas of expertise, essential to generating the high-level skills critical for the development and socio-economic growth of SA. During 2023 the NSTF champions span academia, business and civil society, and this was the 25th year anniversary of the event.  

Since 2015 Steyn has been commissioned to provide the trophies which are processed by employing Titanium 3D metal printing and other laser-based techniques.
